Coronavirus statement March 2020

It is with great sadness I am letting you all know that we have taken the extremely difficult decision to close Broadhembury until it is safe for people to travel and socialise again.

It has been an incredibly hard week, full of talking to people who are having to change their plans and put their dreams of holidays on hold, and I know t hat what we are doing will be contributing to this. I am so sorry, but we feel it is the right thing morally to do at the moment. We must all take steps that will help our emergency services, our hospitals, and all of us, to get through this.

The financial burden of this closure to our small business will be extreme, but we know everyone is facing huge challenges in this regard, and our main priority at the moment is to help keep everyone as fit and well as we can, for as long as we can.

We will be contacting everyone individually who has holidays booked with us imminently; we will do this in a logical manner, starting from those with the closest arrival dates and working our way outwards. It would be a huge help to us if you are able to accept a credit note for future use at Broadhembury (our credit notes never expire).

We have already been experiencing a huge increase in calls and questions from those concerned about their holidays; if at all possible, please email instead of calling and we will work our way through these in the order in which they come in. We are extremely grateful for your patience and understanding.

Although we are closed we will still be here, busying ourselves getting ready for when we can see you all again. In our cheerier moments we have joked that the Park will probably never have looked so smart! We’ll keep in touch, posting here as much as we can.

Finally, I’d like to personally thank our tremendous little team of staff who have been so stoic this week; I know we can get through this together; I would also like again to thank all of you who have sent us messages of love & support – they have meant so much.

I am dreaming of the day when I can write and say ‘We’re Open!’ – until then, please do take care and stay safe.
